While the Earthworm child and his children work, the world becomes unstable, and there have already been numerous nuclear strikes. They seal themselves underground and finish their work. They receive very few transmissions during the three years in the Zupa Bunker. The food is sufficient and the water remains fresh.

B.r.o.o.M. Big Rain over old Montana is the story of the Earthworm child and his children. Much of the story takes place underground where they lived for three long dark years."Chapter I The Explain All" The children do a lot of growing in these years and he teaches them what he can. They learn the songs of B.r.o.o.M. fluently and the music gives them hope because it explains a future above ground. Their main source of nourishment comes from a highly concentrated pasta. This soon becomes the symbol for a fictitious god known as "Pasta Head." His face is on all of the B.r.o.o.M. CDs. When they do return to the land above, their predictions are proven true. Life is Gone.
